The fixture list is a minefield and it’s going to continue that way as there are still matches to be rescheduled.
I’ve gone through the fixture list with the latest information and this information is now available in the app.
A quick look at the favourable fixtures shows that Arsenal & Everton are looking good.
With so many doubles and missed games coming up it really does pay to plan ahead..

I’m very proud to announce that the latest version of Fantasy Football Manager has been approved by Apple and this major update is now available in the AppStore.
The headline new feature of this version is the interactive watchlist. Add any player you are even vaguely interested in and when anything happens to that player you will know about it in the news section. Sounds simple? It’s a huge time saver and works really well.

Not much work left to do on the next release, so a couple of screenshots to demonstrate news & watchlist integration..
Also, much improved app stabiity, photographs included in the news feed.

I’ve just applied a fix to the Player Data issue, at first glance it appears to be sorted.
I’ve also updated the fixture information.
I will monitor the situation and keep you informed.

I’m sorry to say that FFM is having problems with Player Data.
For now please treat Player Data within the app as unreliable at best.
Now that I’m back in the country I am able to work on the problem more easily.
I will inform you when I’ve fixed the problem and have confidence in the data integrity again.
My apologies,
Andy

Here’s a preview of what I’m currently working on.. Basically anything that happens to any of your watch-listed players will submit an article into your news stream, linking you directly to the player for easy access. As with all the normal news items these are fully searchable, in the example I get a list of all the players who feature in the African competition. Still work in progress but I thought you might find it interesting..

Bit of a shameless plug, I have been working with the guys at PeakLocation on a new app.
This would be of interest to anyone that has any kind of interest in visiting mountain resorts, or just viewing them from afar.
With over 1,000 global resorts, expert reviews, photos, map and very soon weather reports. This app aims to be the ultimate guide.
Check their website for more details.

Version 1.3.2 is now available.
This should be the last of the bug fixes, mainly UI (user interface) corrections.
The next release will add some nice watchlist related functionality which I’ve been working on recently..

Update: 1.3.1 is now available on the AppStore.
Not so!
FFM 1.3 has an issue whereby certain regions are not receiving new News Articles.
FFM 1.3.1 has now been sent to Apple for approval which addresses this issue as well as another memory related issue which under certain circumstances could crash the app.
Until version 1.3.1 is available for download you can use the following workaround:
Temporarily change your ‘Region Format’ in your iPhone’s or iTouch’s main Settings/General/International/ Set to United Kingdom & United States.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience, hopefully it’ll be just a few days until 1.3.1 is available for download.
Thanks and have a Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all the best for the business end of the season.
So, while I sip an ice-cold Kingfisher on the beach in Goa I get news that Apple have reviewed and approved the long overdue 1.3 release of FFM.
This version is virtually a complete re-write and offers a lot more functionality, particularly in the area of news and player browsing.
Having done this re-write I will find it much easier to implement many more features. As usual, I’m very happy to receive comments and suggestions.
Stability is vastly improved, some rare issues will be addressed when I return to the UK.
The full name of the app has changed, this partly reflects the fact that this is not one of those 09/10 apps which you need to buy each year. It will continue to be developed and hopefully you will find it more and more useful as the season(s) goes by.
One side effect of a festive release does mean that I’m not able to update the screenshots in the AppStore for a few days while Apple’s servers undergoe some maintenance.
Enough of my rambling, enjoy the new version.
Cheers!
Andy
