Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all the best for the business end of the season.
So, while I sip an ice-cold Kingfisher on the beach in Goa I get news that Apple have reviewed and approved the long overdue 1.3 release of FFM.
This version is virtually a complete re-write and offers a lot more functionality, particularly in the area of news and player browsing.
Having done this re-write I will find it much easier to implement many more features. As usual, I’m very happy to receive comments and suggestions.
Stability is vastly improved, some rare issues will be addressed when I return to the UK.
The full name of the app has changed, this partly reflects the fact that this is not one of those 09/10 apps which you need to buy each year. It will continue to be developed and hopefully you will find it more and more useful as the season(s) goes by.
One side effect of a festive release does mean that I’m not able to update the screenshots in the AppStore for a few days while Apple’s servers undergoe some maintenance.
Enough of my rambling, enjoy the new version.
Cheers!
Andy
Andy-
Looking good!! For some
reason the beta you sent me, I couldn’t install. Nevertheless this update is really nice.
Yes, I finally download the update manually ’cause I read the Appstore is having troubles these days.
Only a few things, the player section is perfect but the My FPL section is still on gameweek 17, and last news are from 18 december and even if I click on the refresh button it doesn’t do or say anything.
Anyway thank you for the effort, the app is reaaally good for FPL players like me
I’ll try to update the fixtures later today, please refer to the next 10 fixtures until then. I’m out of the country but have remote access to my server.
With regard to your news being out of date, it sounds like you don’t have an internet connection? Maybe restarting your phone will sort that out. 18th December news articles were the latest news articles when I submitted to Apple for approval, so it’s definitely a connectivity issue. Do you get the ‘Offline Mode’ pop-up message?
Feel free to email me for a quicker reply as access to the web is a bit tricky where I am holidaying.
Hi Andy, I see now it’s in the store but when I check for updates in iTunes it says me there are no updates. Only a matter of time?
Hi Waldaz,
iTunes sometimes appears slow due to caching, I believe there’s more caching in the iPhone’s version of the AppStore.
You’ve probably got the update by now though, normally there’s a delay of about 4 hours. Let me know if you still don’t see the update.
